Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada’s Atlantic Cool Climate Crop Research Centre has been hosting an annual Farm Field Day for over 50 years. It is one of the largest open houses for Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada across the country and it has become a Newfoundland and Labrador tradition.
Visitors have an opportunity to speak one-on-one with scientists about their research, including their work in small berries and integrated pest management. Industry representatives provide information on their activities and help the general public learn more about agriculture. Other activities and features of the day include agricultural displays, tractor rides, farm animals, scavenger hunts, face painting and even line dancing.
This year's event will take place on Saturday, August 11 from 10am – 5pm. Rain or Shine. Admission is free with plenty of free parking on the grounds.
